Chinese New Year Jewelry

It’s a New Year all over again—Chinese New Year, that is!

What’s a New Year without a resolution? In this “Year of the Rabbit,” I’ve decided to indulge in a bit of Oriental flavor. After all, the Chinese were among the first civilizations to start wearing jewelry, so why not celebrate the tradition? Plus, I see fashionistas everywhere sporting exotic pieces from places I sure wish I’d been!

So how can we hop aboard this trend train? Let’s start with the obvious: dragons! The dragon is symbol of great importance in Chinese culture. Take a look at these jade rings, or these jade necklaces (if you couldn’t tell, jade is a longstanding favorite stone of Chinese jewelers).

Perhaps you have a soft spot for overwhelmingly cute and cuddly animals. If so, you’ll love panda jewelry!

How are you going to observe the Chinese New Year?
